DAPPLE PREVIEWS FIRST PRODUCTS IN LINE OF NATURAL-BASED, BABY-SPECIFIC HOUSEHOLD CLEANSERS AT GREEN PRODUCTS EXPO IN NYC
New Dapple Dish Liquid and Dishwasher Detergent Are Specially Formulated to Remove Milk, Formula, and Other Baby Foods from Dishes, Free of SLES, Parabens, or Phthalates
NEW YORK CITY – February 28, 2008 – Dapple (www.dapplebaby.com) today unveiled the first two items in its line of naturally-derived, baby-specific household cleaning products: a dish liquid for hand/sink use and an automatic dishwasher detergent. The products debuted at the Green Products Expo at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, a showcase of “green-friendly” companies and products. Dapple Dish Liquid and Dapple Dishwasher Detergent are the first dishwashing products to specifically target the residue and odor left behind by breast milk, formula, and other baby foods. Both products are made using natural-based ingredients without SLES, parabens, or phthalates; and no dyes or synthetic fragrances.
“The market is replete with products for babies’ hair, skin, and clothes, but nothing for the bottles, cups, and dishes they put into their mouths each day. And with recent warnings about chemicals like SLES and phthalates, we’re more aware than ever of the need to make sure the products we use for our children are safe,” said Tamar Rosenthal, Dapple co-founder and mother of three. “That’s why we have worked with a team of leading green chemists and experienced pediatricians to create a line of cleansers that combine the best things found in nature to tackle even the toughest residues left by baby foods, both safely and effectively.”
Dapple’s dishwashing products rinse clean, leaving no residue, odor, or suds. Their ingredients are derived from natural substances found in palm oil, soybean oil, and more – all chosen because they are extremely mild to the skin, yet highly effective in cleaning milk products. Dapple Dishwasher Detergent contains enzymes to specifically target the lipids and proteins commonly found in baby foods, and is free of phthalates, phosphates, chlorine, and fragrances. Dapple Dish Liquid contains baking soda to combat odor, as well as an award-winning green technology that leverages a naturally-derived compound to target milk residues. Fragranced with natural essential oils, it is completely phthalate-, SLES-, and dye-free.
Dapple also uses biodegradable ingredients – so it’s great for babies, parents, and the environment. The dishwashing products will be available in late April in stores and online.
