DAPPLE WINS PRESTIGIOUS GRANT AND SUPPORT FROM YAHOO! SMALL BUSINESS AS ONE OF THREE FINALISTS IN “SEEDS FOR SUCCESS” COMPETITION
Program Recognizes Dapple’s Founders as Successful Women Entrepreneurs,
Provides Financial, Technical, and Mentoring Support
NEW YORK CITY – May 5, 2008 – Dapple (www.dapplebaby.com), makers of natural-based, baby-specific household cleaning products, today announced that it has been selected by Yahoo! Small Business as one of just three finalists in the Seeds for Success competition, empowering women entrepreneurs. As a finalist, Dapple has been given the opportunity to turbo-boost its business plan with a cash grant, technical support, and mentoring from top women business leaders. The program is sponsored by FWM: Finding What Matters, an organization founded by former Trump executive Carolyn Kepcher.
Dapple was selected from thousands of submissions from women with business aspirations or existing small businesses. The three winners received $20,000 in cash, technical services from a Yahoo! Small Business partner, free Yahoo! Web Hosting services, promotional support, and a rare opportunity to mentor with Carolyn Kepcher as well as Cathie Black, President of Hearst Magazines, Bobbi Brown, Founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and other successful women entrepreneurs and business leaders. After six months, the business that has accelerated the most will receive an additional cash grant, mentoring services, and media support. Dapple will share its experiences online at its blog, http://dapplebabyblog.com/.
“We are so proud of the Dapple concept, and incredibly honored that it has been recognized by such a prestigious group of business leaders as Yahoo! Small Business and FWM,” said Dapple cofounder Dana Rubinstein. “We are extremely grateful for the support that Seeds of Success is providing to help us bring to market our complete line of natural-based household cleaners, designed with babies' needs in mind.”
Dana, a mother of two, and Tamar Rosenthal, a mother of three, launched Dapple to offer a series of cleaning products that were better for their babies and the environment. The first two products to launch are a dish liquid and automatic dishwasher detergent – the first such products to specifically target the residue and odor left behind by breast milk, formula, and other baby foods. Both products are made using natural-based, biodegradable ingredients, using no harmful SLES, parabens, or phthalates; and no synthetic dyes or fragrances.
About Dapple

Dapple products are free of synthetic dyes or fragrances, SLES, parabens, and phthalates. Designed with the input of parents, pediatricians, and green chemists, the Dapple product line includes a liquid dish soap, powder dish detergent, and a toy cleaner available in spray and wipes.
